Stained Glass for a Church is common thing, but stained glass for a Japanese Temple is never heard of. The Japanese customs put Taxes on panels. Keiichi suggested the Temple to appeal, panels are not for sale and that it would make it look beautiful like a Church. The Tax office said that it was not a church but a 600 year old Temple and taxes must be paid. All government offices are the same.
After the panels were installed news spread quickly and got the attention of all five major newspaper companies. It was full page story news and even became a big thing on the internet. Lots of people came to the temple to look at the stained glass panels from all over Japan.
One of the major Japanese TV companies (Yomiuri TV Company) contacted Keiichi and they wanted to make a story. Three TV company crew came from Japan to San Diego and filmed 4 full days and interviewed Keiichi. Two months later they broadcast a 30 minute story.
